~vacuum~
ever heard of "POLITICAL VACUUM"?
well its something like there is a government but it has no power, there is a revolution with no direction and there are fighting with absolutely no sure cause.
I know it may sound so weird at first but when you get to think about it, it actually makes sense.
When there are political uprisings everywhere and petty rallies & demonstrations littering the streets, you know that the political and not to mention economic situation of a country is unstable.
And those aforementioned signs above are perfect indicators that a so-called "political vacuum" MAY occur.
And i so wish it would occur here, why? Because perhaps that is just what this forsaken country needs. A government with no REAL POWER, because then the power would be in the hands of the people. But I am not saying that that is a good thing. I don't trust the people either but at least we could count on the fact that power would be distributed to a lot of other individuals rather than just a few CORRUPTED minority.
And then perhaps after that "political vacuum" occurence, a leader will surface. A leader worth respecting, a leader who would help this country rise again.
....yeah i know...kind of getting a little wistful there with the ideal leader stuff but hey its not bad to hope right. haaayyyy
----------------------------------------------------------------------
sorry for that political/nationalistic post above
just kind of getting a little frustrated with the political system here
and my studying Western history this summer is not exactly helpful
on the contrary it helps aggravate my concern regarding the current situation of our country
I just can't help but compare and the more I compare the more I see the flaws...
uhmmm
just to clear what i had said earlier
when i said i want a "political vacuum" to occur it doesn't mean i want a revolution without direction and fighting without a cause to occur as well
of course i dont want that
what i want is a REVOLUTION with a GOAL and fighting with A CAUSE
but you have to understand that i am part of the bourgeoisie/middle class
thus you have to expect that what i have here are mere words and of course no actions on my part
and that's what separates MCs from other society ranks. Mcs just as my Filipino11/12 professor said and reiterated by my History professor, are individuals who bother criticizing the issues but never bother to take part in any movement unless they are directly affected.
but i am YET to prove i am not one of them
for now categorize me as such
--------------
anyway enough of that history and political talk
but as we are on the subject of history and since i have mentioned my history professor i might as well share something about him
as most of you know i love history
eversince i began to know about history i have loved it and tertiary level history is no exception
i am loving every minute i spend sitting in my classroom discussing history and learning about different countries and obviously i love my professor as well
he is not the usual history professor that students envisioned
he is YOUNG but not that young...he is probably in the early thirties or late twenties
he has a well-modulated voice...not that loud that you jumped every time he speaks and not that soft that you have to actually bring a hearing-aid to help you understand what he is saying
he uses fun visual aids every after a chronological lapse in the lesson
he writes the lesson in an outlined manner that you just have to copy his writings on the board to have notes that are already organized and following a chronological order
he doesn't want you to memorize any date, any hero, and for that matter any important person..what matters to him is that you understand what happened in that part of the history and how it can help you realize what can be done in the future
and
he gives easy tests just multiple choice and a few essay questions
hehehehe
i sooo love him and history
=)
here's a few of what he said that made the class really laugh today ---slightly paraphrased---
"imagine Fr.Bienvenido Nebres announcing one day I DECLARE THE ATENEO AN INDEPENDENT COUNTRY FROM THE PHILIPPINES, ALL ATENEANS NOW ARE MY SUBJECTS. I AM NOW KING BEN AND WE ARE NOT ANYMORE UNDER THE GOVERNMENT do we have the money to support us? why yes of course! ibenta nyo lang lahat ng laptops, kotse at cellphones galing sa lahat ng estudyante dito eh meron na tayong malaKing mahahakot na pera.(laugh) do we have the means to defend ourselves? cge ganto si GMA would send the MMDA(laugh) sa may Gate3 at susugurin tayo, si Fr.Nebres now King Ben would then say ALL RIGHT ALL YOU ROTCs POSITION YOURSELF AT GATES123 AND DEFEND ADMU. Magkakaroon tuloy tayo ng BATTLE OF JOLIBEE at TREATY OF THE OVERPASS(laugh) o dba? think if that will happen...(laugh)..."
